Before the assessment process can begin, the student must have a diagnosis of autism and a high school diploma or G.E.D equivalent. The admissions assessment requires a review of the applicant’s art portfolio, so a student should have one or a plan to create one prior to applying. It is also recommended that the applicant has reviewed the program and has a thorough understanding of its purpose and offerings prior to applying. For further information, please refer to the Full-Time Program page.
Does EM accept Self-Determination funding through the Regional Center?
We do accept Self-Determination funding. Exceptional Minds is a nonprofit and receives very little government funding. We are not partnered with the Department of Rehabilitation or “vendored” by any California Regional Centers. Self-determination funding may be available for Regional Center clients.
